00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at a new AI-based tool for fleet data analysis, Relay Payments’ truckstop addition, a U.S.-based digital freight company’s expansion and more.

00:25 Lanterne, a data science and geospatial analytics company, has created an experimental artificial intelligence-based tool that simplifies and accelerates data analysis in fleet management.

The tool, called Fleet Analyst, enables commercial fleet managers to improve operations by extracting actionable insights from the telematics data by which they are often inundated.

Fleet managers can use the Fleet Analyst chat interface to find answers to complex data questions without needing to use advanced data analytics tools. Fleet Analyst then uses AI to process and interpret that data. Based on chat comments, the tool can generate tailored reports, creating a faster and more accurate data analysis experience than traditional database querying.

The tool also goes beyond user queries, actively searching for opportunities and notifying fleet managers based on past requests.

01:21 Trucking and logistics fintech company Relay Payments has expanded once again, now offering its diesel fuel purchasing option at 86 Maverik – Adventure’s First Stop locations.

For drivers paying directly at Maverik pumps, the completely digital and contactless payment method allows them to get back on the road quickly. Relay first introduced its digital payment solution in 2019 to eliminate long delays that forced drivers to wait hours for payment approvals and authorizations at warehouses.

Drivers also benefit from Relay’s negotiated fuel discounts and can retain any pre-negotiated discounts they’ve had in place with Maverik. In addition, drivers have access to prices and route planning options in Relay’s mobile app.

02:07 Cargobot, a Miami-based international digital freight company connecting shippers and carriers via its data-driven platform in the U.S., Mexico and Canada, has expanded its operations to Europe.

Initial operations will be centered in Spain as the European team adds more countries.

Cargobot’s services in Europe include:

• The ability to import or export goods to any European country from Spain via full truckload service Cargobot Direct.

• The ability to digitally consolidate dry or refrigerated partial truckload freight for multiple users via partial truckload service Cargobot Pool.

• Hiring pre-selected, licensed and trained transporters.

• Cargo Tracking that allows for monitoring a shipment’s status in real time from origin to destination with incident notifications.

• Multiple freight prices to help customers foresee and efficiently manage fluctuations in transportation costs.

• And dedicated customer service available 24/7.

Cargobot Co-founder and CEO Fernando Correa said, "the land transportation market within the European Union is ripe for innovation and presents a valuable opportunity to leverage sector growth and optimize operations through technological solutions. The goal of Cargobot’s technology-integrated solutions is to streamline operations which will, as a result, increase revenues, and reduce risks and complications to the fullest extent. Also, European shippers will have access to Cargobot’s U.S. products and services as part of an international network.”

03:41 Automated driver training and safety management platform DOTsfty has integrated its advanced driver training tools with the Geotab Drive app to offer mobile-first short video training content that aims to create a safety-first culture through real-time self-correction.

The integration includes a full suite of features designed to optimize driver performance and safety while reducing costs related to fuel, vehicle maintenance and insurance rates. By leveraging Geotab’s telematics data, DOTsfty's platform offers a 360° analysis of driver behavior, enabling safety managers to provide immediate and effective training to drivers.

The Geotab integration also includes customized push notifications and messaging through the Geotab Drive App, allowing for additional real-time feedback and training for drivers. This feature in pilot programs has already resulted in substantial savings and increased driver engagement for clients.
