00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts includes an integration that aims to combat cargo theft, a new tracking service for auto haulers, Netradyne’s partnership with the Independent Carrier Safety Association and an integration to automate fleet expense and fuel management.

27 Transport Pro, a cloud-native transportation management software provider, and real-time logistics visibility service Tive have partnered to combat cargo theft. The integration provides additional layers of protection for freight brokers and their shipments to deter bad actors and thieves. Tive trackers are placed directly onto the cargo in the trailer so even if a driver stops tracking via an app or cell phone, the cargo is still being tracked. Transport Pro’s native freight visibility tools in conjunction with Tive’s trackers gives brokers other valuable insights or red flags like light exposure, humidity and temperature. Transport Pro’s president and founder (Kenneth Kloeppel) said, ”Fraud and cargo theft have been a hot topic for the past few years. Freight tech providers have some great tools for vetting carriers, but there are still a lot of bad actors slipping through the cracks. Fundamentally, tracking the actual cargo with a hardware device is the only way to keep an eye on the shipment. Brokers who want to manage high value cargo should really consider adding a layer of visibility to these moves.” This collaboration offers hyper-accurate, real-time information so any issues can be addressed immediately, significantly reducing damages and claims.

40 Ship.Cars, a provider of auto logistics technology solutions, has rolled out a real-time tracking/status link feature that gives end customers 24/7 access to shipment status and locations from dispatch to delivery. Typically only available from last-mile delivery services in the retail sector, this feature enables access to all related inspection and delivery documentation, streamlining interactions between carriers and customers and allowing shippers to reduce customer inquiries. Ship.Cars plans to integrate a Generative AI chatbot into the tracking page for 24/7 customer support in the coming months.

20 FleetUp and RoadFlex have announced an integration to automate fleet expense management and fuel management, from data collection to reporting, and help fleets mitigate fraudulent purchases. The combined solution verifies purchases by ensuring the card is used by the appropriate employee and vehicle while also blocking and flagging suspicious transactions for immediate review in real time. This is done by combining real-time vehicle telematics data with Level 3 fuel transaction data. Additionally, the combined solution blocks purchases that would exceed a vehicle’s fuel tank capacity and alerts fleet managers if the wrong fuel type is purchased for a specific vehicle.

00 The Independent Carrier Safety Association, a non-profit that aims to improve highway safety by engaging single-truck operators and small fleets in its safety mission, has selected video telematics provider Netradyne as its preferred fleet safety solutions vendor. Carriers already using any of four approved major camera brands are not required to buy cameras from ICSA, but for those who still need to purchase cameras, this partnership offers a substantial discount from Netradyne. ICSA’s Executive Director (Karen Rasmussen) said, “Forward-facing cameras are a key component of any truck safety program and a requirement for member carriers to qualify for reduced insurance rates under ICSA’s risk purchase group program.” ICSA provides its members with no-cost safety consulting to ensure carriers are doing everything they can to reduce risk and crashes.
