00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights a new feature for fuel fraud prevention, an integration between a fleet inspection and maintenance platform and a logistics management software provider, a new global consulting service and more.
00:25 Multi Service Fuel Card has launched a one-time PIN security feature, integrated into its mobile app, designed to protect against fuel card fraud.
The number of cards compromised due to skimming jumped 77% in 2023 compared to 2022, according to FICO.
This feature sends a unique time-sensitive PIN through the Multi Service Fuel Card mobile app to authorize transactions at the pump. Unlike traditional static PINs, One-Time PINs are generated on the fly and expire quickly making it virtually impossible for criminals to reuse intercepted data.
01:02 Fleet inspection and maintenance platform Whip Around and logistics management software provider Transflo have partnered to address the industry's need for solutions that streamline operations, enhance safety and make it easier to maintain compliance in a complex regulatory landscape.
The partnership will allow customers to leverage the strengths of both platforms, offering a more holistic approach to fleet management. While the two systems are not currently integrated, they can be used as complementary solutions.
Whip Around’s inspection and maintenance capabilities can be combined with Transflo’s logistics management to gain full visibility into a fleet’s health and operations. Whip Around’s inspection app can be used alongside Transflo Mobile+ to simplify drivers' daily tasks and enhance accountability. Combined, the platforms optimize preventative maintenance and ensure adherence to DOT regulations for improved safety and compliance. And the platforms, together, offer data-driven decision making with access to rich insights from both systems to optimize fleet performance, reduce costs and increase uptime.
02:07 Eaton’s Mobility Group has added Platform Science as a new telematics service provider for its IntelliConnect remote diagnostic technology for automated transmissions.
Platform Science Fleet Solutions will provide customer vehicle data to enable Eaton’s IntelliConnect solution. IntelliConnect provides near real-time monitoring of vehicle fault codes, enabling fleets to effectively prioritize critical events. The system delivers accurate and comprehensive action plans from technical experts, reducing unplanned downtime and accelerating the diagnosis of necessary repairs. By incorporating Platform Science Fleet Solutions telematics data, Eaton now offers these advanced diagnostics to a broader range of users.
02:50 Connected mobility solutions provider Teletrac Navman has rolled out a new global consulting service designed to produce full decarbonization strategies for fleets planning multi-energy operations.
Delivered through analytics and technology, the new consulting service offers high-level detail on the economics, process management and procurement involved in an enterprise sustainability and decarbonization strategy. It also provides in-depth recommendations for an array of alternative energies, including electrification, hydrogen, natural gas and biodiesel.
Through the service customers will get access to the wider Vontier ecosystem of multi-energy products across infrastructure, energy management and fleet operations, enabling a unified approach to business operations and decarbonization.
The service will provide detailed financial analysis and emission pathways under different scenarios and sensitivities for periods up to 10 years.
03:45 Samsara Inc. has a new integration with Esri that aims to enhance fleet management and real-time reporting for government agencies.
This integration allows customers to leverage telematics data from Samsara, including location, utilization and maintenance, within Esri’s ArcGIS Velocity, a software-as-a-service IoT application for processing, visualizing and analyzing real-time data.
The combined capabilities allow customers to ingest, analyze, and visualize real-time location and condition data, offering these key advantages: enhanced asset recovery with geofencing and asset tracking; optimized emergency response with GPS and location data integration; and comprehensive post-event reporting.
