00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at a new load board feature, a load verification tool that aims to prevent scams and more.
00:21 Truckstop.com has launched a new feature called Private Loads.
For freight brokers, Private Loads on the Truckstop Load Board provides a high-reach channel to connect with pre-vetted carriers in the same place they are already looking for freight every day. Brokers who post Private Loads can seamlessly waterfall these loads to Truckstop’s public load board of verified carriers as needed to expand their network and cover the load.
With Private Loads, a broker’s approved carriers can instantly see privately posted loads from the brokers they work with, alongside public loads.
Private and public loads are all in one place for carriers, giving them a centralized load board to quickly identify, compare, and secure the most desirable loads without the constant, inefficient juggling of emails, time on hold, unreturned calls, and multiple load boards.
01:09 The National Motor Freight Traffic Association has assumed management of the Scheduling Standards Consortium, which will now be part of NMFTA’s Digital Standards Development Council – an industry-led initiative that includes both the Digital Less-than-Truckload Council and the Digital Full Truckload Council.
This move supports NMFTA's efforts to create standards that improve communication between carriers, shippers, technology providers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) by creating and sharing application programming interfaces (APIs) for a fully digital logistics process.
The SSC was formed in 2022 to help simplify the integration of systems across the fragmented ecosystem between shippers, carriers, and 3PLs to create a more efficient appointment scheduling process.
01:58 Third-party logistics provider Trinity Logistics has introduced a new load verification tool aimed at helping carriers safeguard themselves from rising scam and fake load activity across the freight industry.
The free tool, available on the company’s website, provides carriers with a fast, reliable way to verify the load they’ve booked is legitimate and actually arranged by Trinity Logistics.
To verify a load, carriers visit the verification page on the company’s website and enter the Trinity load number, along with their company DOT or MC number into the secure online form. The application will confirm whether the load is valid and backed by Trinity within seconds.
A Trinity operational risk analyst (Kristin Deno) said, "Trinity created the load verification tool as a direct response to the rise in fraud targeting carriers. Scammers have unfortunately impersonated trusted brokers like Trinity in an effort to trick carriers into taking fake loads. This tool gives our carrier relationships a simple and secure way to confirm a shipment is legitimate before they ever roll a truck.”
03:00 Fleetworthy has integrated with Motive to expand access to its Toll Genius solution for fleet customers using both Bestpass by Fleetworthy and Motive ELDs.
Toll Genius, a toll analytics and reporting capability that integrates Bestpass toll data with GPS and vehicle telematics information, leverages advanced machine learning models to detect toll anomalies, reduce violations and optimize toll management.
This integration provides toll match reports that align vehicle GPS locations with toll events to flag mismatches, anomalies or unauthorized tolls. It also includes toll discrepancy reports to diagnose causes for unmatched tolls, including stationary vehicles and device misassignments, using advanced pattern matching algorithms. In addition, smart fleet match reports that automatically detect gaps in toll coverage or GPS data using AI-driven cross-references between Bestpass and Motive’s records are also provided.
Interactive Map Views to visually explore toll discrepancies and vehicle movements and custom filters and date ranges to analyze toll activity by vehicle, cost center or timeframe are also part of the integration.
