Ram Trucks unveiled Tuesday slight modifications to its commercial van lineup for the 2016 model year.
Most notable is the addition of a side window to the 159-inch, high roof, extended configuration Ram ProMaster, the largest configuration offered.
Ram also added some shine with a chrome grille option. Provisions for a second battery at the rear of the cab and new 20-amp auxiliary switches accessible on the dash panel will also be made available for select 2016 ProMaster models.
The third generation, unibody, front-wheel-drive van will feature, according to Ram, Best-in-class fuel economy; Best-in-class step-in height and lowest load floor; Best-in-class standard ceiling height; and Lower maintenance costs.
For more urban applications, the 2016 Ram ProMaster City will replace the Ram C/V as Ram’s Class 1 van offering, and Ram says it will offer Best in class payload capacity, cargo area, performance and fuel economy.
Based on the Fiat Doblò, the 178-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder, nine-speed automatic, front-wheel drive Ram ProMaster City is the brand’s second collaboration with Fiat Professional, with the ProMaster full-size van being the first.
