This advertisement promoting tourism in Florida has been posted on several dump trucks that have been sent from Florida to take on heavy snowfall in the nation’s capital.The State of Florida is sending dump trucks to help the nation’s capital dig-out from deep snow following Winter Storm Jonas.
The trucks have been clad in bright yellow ad wraps to help promote tourism for the Sunshine State, according to tbo.com.
“Florida is glad to help Washington, D.C. dig out from the snow I have seen on my visit here this week,” Gov. Rick Scott said. “Our state will provide 15 dump trucks with a message of ‘sunshine’ to encourage residents as they clean up and recover.”
The large ads posted on the trucks feature a hitch-hiking snowman holding a sign that states “Florida Bound” and “Sharing the Sunshine.”
Thirty-one Florida Department of Transportation employees headed out in the D.C-bound trucks on Wednesday.
Florida is no stranger to using transportation ads up north. Visit St. Pete Clearwater placed ads last winter on subway trains, buses and elevators. It was part of the city’s winterblows.com campaign.
