Morgan Corporation has launched a new line of lighter weight truck bodies for dry freight and refrigerated applications.
With initial fitment designed for newer model, European-style chassis cabs and medium duty cabovers, Morgan’s Director of Business Development Paul Jarossy says NexGen bodies are up to 20 percent lighter than current industry truck bodies, allowing for between 400 and 600 pounds of increased payload than bodies of similar size.
A refined aerodynamic design and use of advanced materials result in better fuel economy, increased cargo capacity and better resistance to the elements for a lower overall cost of ownership, the company says.
The lightweight body is built of non-corrosive aluminum and composite materials to inhibit rust. NexGen bodies use hard-mount installation brackets versus U-bolts and are designed with sealed leak-free joints consisting of elastomeric gaskets in the connection profiles. The bodies also include a stain-resistant phenolic flooring in the dry freight body and aluminum “silent floor” in the reefer.
NexGen bodies feature a rivetless, seamless design, which allows for the easy installation of graphics.
