Chevy’s new City Express to compete with Ford Transit Connect
Chevrolet’s all-new 2015 City Express, on display this week at the Chicago Auto Show, is designed to match maneuverability and cargo-hauling flexibility with efficiency. Based on the Nissan NV200, the small van is aimed at urban business owners and fleet managers, but it’s clearly taking aim at the Ford Transit Connect in providing value-driven capability with low operating costs.

Ford recalls some 2011 E-series vans for windshield bubbles
Ford Motor Co. is recalling certain model year 2011 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, and E-450 vehicles built from May 12, 2011, through May 26, 2011. Due to improper manufacturing conditions, some of the windshields may form bubbles after an extended time in hot temperatures.

Pickups fail to meet insurance group’s tougher safety standards
No pickup trucks earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s safety awards for 2014, dinged by stricter standards included in the scoring this year. The Ford F-150 crew cab models, the Honda Ridgeline and the Toyota Tundra crew cab models all had earned TSP ratings for 2013, which required good performance in the Institute’s moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.
