In its ongoing support for truck safety and industry advocacy, Volvo Trucks North America donated an all-new Volvo VNL tractor to the American Trucking Associations’ America’s Road Team program. Peter Voorhoeve, Volvo Trucks North America president, handed the keys to ATA president Chris Spear during a ceremony at the 2024 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition in Nashville, Tenn.
“I want to thank Volvo for not only the support that they have given the ATA and this program, but their passion and commitment to our industry's image,” said Spear. “It's imperative that we project ourselves nationwide as a safe, environmentally friendly industry. This contribution to the program is intended to do just that matching innovation with the best talent that this industry has to offer.”
The 2024-2025 America’s Road Team marks the 23rd year that Volvo Trucks has sponsored the program. The America’s Road Team is comprised of 24 drivers from 14 different trucking companies in the trucking industry. Combined, they have more than 61 million accident-free miles. The drivers are serving a two-year term as ambassadors for the trucking industry, representing drivers, advocating for safety and speaking to media outlets about career opportunities and trucking issues.
