Safety Vision is introducing its digital video recorders to school districts for school buses. The recorders eliminate VHS tapes. All audio and video is stored on industrial grade, mobile-rated removable hard drives. The RoadRecorder 5000 records at a resolution of 720 x 486, twice the resolution of a VHS tape, the company says. The video is searchable by time and date and the patented encryption allows for admissible evidence in a court of law.
