@Road introduced Pocket Edition, a mobile resource management system that works with Global Positioning System-enabled mobile phones. Pocket Edition is designed to locate mobile workers separately from their vehicles, enhancing their safety and security. Future versions of Pocket Edition will allow mobile workers to send and receive text messages and interface with their companies’ enterprise applications.
The new service is based on a hosted MRM platform that uses the GPS satellite network, wireless communications and the Internet. Tools include activity and workflow reporting, mapping and location-on-demand.
