United Auto Workers Local 2069 rejected two of three tentative labor agreements covering the Volvo Trucks North America plant in New River Valley, Va.
The Feb. 13 union vote, announced Feb. 14 by Volvo Trucks, rejected a tentative agreement covering salaried and hourly workers and a tentative agreement covering just hourly workers.
The union did OK a tentative agreement covering the plant’s approximately 190 salaried workers.
The local represents approximately 2,800 workers.
As negotiations continue, the plant continues to operate under the terms of the agreement that expired Feb. 1.
Negotiations began Dec. 6, and the negotiating teams reached tentative agreements, subject to ratification by the local bargaining units, on Feb. 1.
UAW representatives said they had no immediate comment on the vote.
