Average diesel price goes up again

user-gravatar Headshot

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel set another record for the week ending April 11, up more than a penny from the previous week’s record price, to $2.316.

The average price was up in every region tracked by the U.S. Department of Energy, but no region saw the 5-cent increases typical of the April 4 report. Coming the closest were the West Coast with a 4-cent increase and the Rocky Mountains with a 3-cent increase.

On average, diesel was most expensive on the West Coast at $2.585 a gallon and least expensive in the Lower Atlantic states at $2.244 a gallon.
