Average diesel price dips 2 cents

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel dipped 2 cents, to $2.262, for the week ending May 2.

The average price was down in every region tracked by the U.S. Department of Energy, the biggest drop being 3 cents in the Midwest.

On average, diesel was most expensive on the West Coast at $2.530 a gallon and least expensive in the Midwest at $2.194.
