The Technology and Maintenance Council’s inaugural National Technician Skills Competition, TMCSuperTech 2005, will be held Sept. 18-20 at the Valley Forge Convention Plaza in Valley Forge, Pa.

Organized by TMC’s Professional Technician Development Committee, the competition will showcase the skills and knowledge shown by trucking industry technicians.

Any technician employed in the trucking industry may register for the competition. Technicians must be a TMC Technician member to compete. The entry fee – $75 – will cover the cost of a TMC Technician membership for one year.

Current TMC Technicians may register for TMCSuperTech 2005 free of charge. The registration deadline is Aug. 15.

Contestants will compete in a challenge round consisting of hour-long written multiple-choice tests.

Fifty contestants will advance to the Hands-On Skills Challenge, where they will rotate through eight stations that cover various diagnostic skills areas.

The Grand Champion will receive an expense-paid trip of their choice to either the 2006 Daytona 500, the 2006 Super Bowl or some other equivalent package.
