Schneider National has announced plans to add 100 truck driving positions in the greater Greenville, S.C., area.

The Green Bay, Wis.-based carrier said the expansion, announced July 7, is designed to increase Schneider’s presence in the Southeast and to support a wider range of clients, including a major retail distribution center.

The new drivers will work for Schneider National’s one-way van, dedicated, bulk or specialized divisions, hauling regionally or throughout the United States.

Schneider also is testing its new Home Run program, an alternative work arrangement that consists of “pods” of three driving teams that live near each other and share two tractors. The teams get one week at home while the other two drivers haul. Under the program, drivers can spend as much as 17 weeks at home per year.
