The Fraternal Order of Police at the Pennsylvania State Lodge are organizing a Sept. 24 convoy in Harrisburg around the Capital Beltway as part of the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics.

The convoy will begin at 10 a.m. with a police escort around the 27-mile-long Interstate 81, I-83 and Route 581 beltway. Participating trucks will return to the Pennsylvania Farm Show parking lot staging area on Cameron Street in Harrisburg for entertainment, exhibits and other activities.

Truckers can bid on being the lead truck. Qualifying trucks include semis, truck/trailer combinations, large trucks, lowboys, dump trucks, flatbeds, buses, and large tow trucks. A single entry costs $100, and other sponsorships are available.
