Stemco, a provider of heavy-duty truck and trailer wheel-end systems and components, has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949 quality certifications by Underwriters Laboratories Inc., an accredited independent registration body.
The ISO 9001 standard sets forth the requirements for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing.
TS 16949 defines the fundamental quality system expectations of Chrysler, Ford, General Motors and several medium- and heavy-duty truck manufacturers.
To achieve registration, Stemco’s facility in Longview, Texas, underwent an extensive audit by UL that examined virtually every aspect of the plant’s operation, from management responsibility to manufacturing capabilities.
