Phoenix-based Knight Transportation has completed the acquisition of Edwards Bros, a refrigerated truckload carrier and brokerage based in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Edwards Bros. will operate under its current name in the near term, but eventually the business is expected to be folded into the Knight Refrigerated brand.

According to the latest Form MCS-150 filed for Edwards Bros., the carrier operates approximately 150 power units. Edwards Bros. generates about $25 to $30 million in revenue in its trucking and brokerage operations, Knight Transportation said.

“We expect to retain a majority of the revenue, focusing on the most favorable relationships and attempting to match fleet size with the number of qualified drivers,” said Knight Transportation CEO Kevin Knight. “Prior to the acquisition, Edwards Bros. was marginally profitable.”
