BP Lubricants USA recently named the three Castrol Tection Extra Big Honkin’ Truck Makeover finalists.

The finalists, named Aug. 17, are Jeff Fields of Tully, N.Y., owner of a 1979 Peterbilt; Ed Godfrey of Dallas, owner of a 1997 Freightliner; and Robert Jones of Lithia Springs, Ga., owner of a 1993 Freightliner.

A board of judges picked the finalists from a pool of contestant essays explaining why his or her truck was worthy of the makeover.

The next phase of the competition will continue at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas on Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 25-27. Public voting will take place at the Castrol Tection Extra booth, No. 17013. Attendees are invited to vote for their favorite finalist after viewing a photo of the finalists’ rig and contest essay. Voting will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 and end at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26.

Show attendees age 21 years and older will be able to cast their vote to decide the lucky winner of a rig overhaul. Each voter will be entered automatically to win a free pair of Justin Work Boots. Fifteen pairs of boots will be given away at the show.

The Midnight Trucking Radio Network’s Eric Harley will announce the grand prize winner at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The winner will receive an internal, external and communications makeover valued at $50,000.
