Contract Freighters Inc. soon will begin paying drivers based on Rand McNally Practical Route Miles, instead of the industry-standard short route miles.
Effective December, the change will result in a 3 1/2 percent pay increase for company drivers and owners/operators.
Based in Joplin, Mo., CFI transports goods throughout the United States and Canada. It also interlines with Mexican carriers at border crossings.
