In response to Hurricane Katrina, Great Dane Trailers has provided the use of refrigerated trailers to the American Red Cross over an extended period of time for its emergency reponse.

Originating in Dallas, the trailers will be delivered to food and supply distribution hubs in affected areas on the Gulf Coast, including Baton Rouge, La.; Lafayette, La.; and Mobile, Ala.

In addition to the reefer trailers valued at about $250,000, Great Dane also has initiated a corporate giving program for those affected by Katrina.

Great Dane’s full-service branch in Mobile sustained some damage as a result of Katrina but currently is operational. The company’s dry freight van production facility in Greenville, Miss. experienced no structural damage and also is fully functional.
