Jack Cooper Transport — a Kansas City, Mo.-based automobile transporter — delivered eight police cruisers to the sheriff’s department in Mississippi’s Hamilton County.

A police department in Garland, Texas, donated the cars, which were delivered on Friday, Sept. 16.

The sheriff’s original patrol fleet was lost when Hurricane Katrina came aground.

ATA’s Automobile Carriers Conference facilitated the move at the request of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. Jack Cooper Transport relocated the cars within 48 hours of CVSA’s request.
