CRST Malone has worked with its customer base and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to organize Hurricane Katrina relief supplies at a Louisiana terminal.

The company donated several refrigerated trailers to move ice, and a local agent near New Orleans provided his six-acre yard to stage and warehouse a variety of relief materials.

A group of CRST Malone contractors collected food, water, clothing, toys and other relief items from Kentucky.

“The decision to help the victims of Katrina was an easy one,” said Sherry Bass, vice president of capacity development at CRST Malone. “In a situation like this, you just start helping as soon as possible and use the resources you have to make it happen. It only took a little time before we had people asking how they could help.”
