Cadec Corp., a provider of mobile information systems for the transportation industry, has announced the rollout of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s amended hours-of-service rules. The new rules take effect Saturday, Oct. 1, and will replace the regulations that were last updated in 2003.

“Once again, Cadec puts the needs of our customers first by taking immediate action to incorporate the modified HOS rules into the Mobius TTS system without delay,” said Les Dole, president and ceo of Londonderry, N.H.-based Cadec. “Our primary focus is to address the end-user experience. We spend considerable time talking to our customers and have a deep understanding, not only of their overall business needs, but also the day-to-day details of transportation. We know the challenges they face and that they need to be equipped with the latest regulatory requirements on time and as seamlessly as possible.”

Cadec says these changes will be available to customers before the Oct. 1 deadline:

  • Mobius TTS will comply with the modified hours rules. Trucks and drivers will switch seamlessly from the old rules to the new.
  • Mobius TTS will continue to provide driver violation warnings.
  • Revised Violation and Available Hours Reports will be available in the Office software.
