Fastener distributor Fastenal Industrial & Construction Supplies says it has selected TruckStops Routing & Scheduling software from MicroAnalytics to create cost-effective vehicle routes and schedules while reducing transportation costs, increasing driver productivity and improving customer service.
“Before purchasing TruckStops, we had several people doing the routing manually, which took a tremendous amount of time and effort,” says Tim Spaeth, logistics manager for Winona, Minn.-based Fastenal. “We’re looking forward to saving time during the routing process with TruckStops as well as reaping the benefits of reduced mileage and more optimal routes. We are also hoping to use the software to minimize our fleet size and improve customer service.”
Mike Hooban, president of Arlington, Va.-based MicroAnalytics, agrees with Spaeth. “While many of our users decide to purchase TruckStops because it can save them a great deal of money, they quickly discover that it also enhances customer service significantly,” Hooban says. “In addition, it provides a high degree of management control over operations.”
