Schmidt named CEO of CFI

Herbert Schmidt has been named chief executive officer of CFI. Schmidt, who was appointed CFI president in 2000, will retain his current title in addition to being CEO.

Schmidt joined the Joplin, Mo.-based company in 1984 and has served as senior vice president of sales and marketing, vice president of safety, vice president of administration and senior vice president of operations.

Prior to CFI, Schmidt worked with United Parcel Service. He graduated from Missouri Southern State College in 1978.
