Loading device for pickups
Stellar Industries has developed the X-Tra-Lift Utility Pro loading device for full-size, dual rear-wheel chassis with a cab-to-axle measurement of 60 inches. The device includes a hydraulic/electric X-Tra-Lift loading system with a 1,300-pound lifting capacity and a 9-foot-long Knapheide Manufacturing utility body that offers tool and part storage. The X-Tra-Lift is designed to load and unload its payload while remaining level on the ground, and to be stable at any level of the load cycle. Options include a wireless remote control, casters, tiedowns, various loading platforms and carriers, lights and paint. The loading device can be purchased separately from the utility body for installation on most domestic full-size pickup truck boxes.

Log auditing software
J.J. Keller and Associates has introduced an enhanced version of Log Checker, software designed to help transportation professionals automate the task of auditing drivers’ logs for compliance with FMCSA hours-of-service regulations. A major new feature of the software is the addition of automatic home-page alerts providing key information like current top 10 hours-of-service violators, critical violations and drivers with falsifications and missing logs; these alerts allow users to review violations with drivers and help managers and dispatchers determine who is available to drive. Other new features include built-in regulatory content; search tools; a driver point system to help evaluate and grade drivers; a 34-hour restart option; and enhanced reporting capabilities.

Single-pole coiled power and ground cable
Waltco Truck Equipment Co.’s Copperhead Snake is a single-pole trailer liftgate cable designed to integrate power and ground wiring into one coiled cable. Waltco says the cable – which includes a coiled 0-gauge power and 2-gauge ground cable with up to 21/2 times the charging capability of common 4-gauge charging cords – provides both the power and the ground necessary to serve any 12-volt accessories, such as trailer liftgates. The Snake is designed to provide proper voltage, which can lead to longer electrical component and battery life for liftgates and other trailer accessories, and less wear on other trailer components.

Thread treatment sticks
Henkel Corporation says its Loctite Thread Treatment Sticks cover a wide variety of threadlocking, thread sealing, retaining, gasketing and lubricating applications for aftermarket repair and service. The stick line includes Blue Threadlocker (medium strength), Red Threadlocker (high strength), PST Pipe Sealant, Silver Anti-Seize, Copper Anti-Seize, Gasket Maker, Bearing Mount and Hi-Tack. A stick assortment kit includes Blue and Red Threadlockers, PST Pipe Sealant and Silver and Copper Anti-Seize sticks. Henkel says the Loctite stick line makes repairs quicker and simpler, and is more convenient to use than traditional liquid formulas; just pop the cap and twist the tube an 1/8 of an inch. The solid formula is designed for precise application and to eliminate messy liquid spills and leaks in toolboxes, making it useful in overhead and pre-assembly applications. The sticks can be kept in a shirt pocket, tool belt or toolbox, the company says.

Valve stem for tires
Air Tight Solutions says its AS100 valve stem uses a combination of Viton o-rings and a machined brass adaptor that isn’t affected by high temperatures – unlike standard valve stems with rubber grommets – thus maintaining a tighter seal and more accurate tire pressure. According to the company, the valve stems eliminate the labor of removing wheels in order to retighten a valve stem nut, as well as flats caused by leaking valve stem grommets.
