Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has extended the warranty for its aftermarket Class 8 brushless alternator to three years/350,000 miles from one year/unlimited miles.

“With the recent successful launch of our AllMakes Aftermarket Program, we are now able to offer our aftermarket alternator with an improved warranty,” says Denis Bigras, director of heavy-duty aftermarket for Northville, Mich.-based Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America. “Through our field experience, we can confidently offer our customers a reliable, high-performance alternator with an industry-leading warranty.”

Mitsubishi Electric says its Class 8 alternator features many innovations that make it well suited to meet the demands of the heavy-duty truck market, such as its ability to withstand the vibration and heat environment found in today’s engines. The alternator — engineered as a PAD mount, 145-amp brushless design — weighs 20 pounds and is designed to be compatible with nearly 80 percent of today’s truck applications with alternators using PAD mount. The durable, high-output alternator provides improved fuel economy, increased payload potential and lower noise levels, according to the company.
