BSM Technologies, a provider of high-security vehicle tracking, surveillance and fleet management solutions, announced that it has completed a sale for 50 SentinelFM units to Vandermarel Trucking, representing the entire Vandermarel fleet. The 50 units already have been installed on the Vandermarel fleet and include mobile data terminals (MDT) designed to allow for two-way communication between the vehicle operator and the backend dispatch system.

“Andy Vandermarel, president and CEO of Vandermarel Trucking, has been in the market searching for an AVL solution that met his stringent needs, and BSM won his business hands down,” says Lynn Arcari, director of sales at Mississauga, Ontario-based BSM Technologies. “Most important of all was his requirement to mitigate the enormous rise in fuel costs over the past year, which BSM was able to clearly demonstrate. This order will also include displays that will enable Vandermarel to communicate directly with their entire fleet of drivers and seamlessly integrate into their backend dispatching system.”

Vandermarel Trucking, based in Fergus, Ontario, is a flatbed and van carrier that operates throughout North America. The company provides specialized and/or dedicated carriage to a broad range of customers, including shippers of siding, fiberglass, lumber, stone, steel, tubing and piping.
