Arizona officials recently installed a camera system on an 8-mile stretch of Loop 101 in Scottsdale. The system, thought to be the first in the nation, went online Feb. 9 and presently is being evaluated over a nine-month period.
Motorists now identified by the “speed cam” as traveling 11 mph or more above the posted speed limit will begin receiving speeding citations in the mail. A typical speeding fine is $157.
