J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers — a division of Somerset Welding & Steel and a manufacturer of dump bodies, trailers and specialty truck equipment — has announced that it has achieved Member Verification Program status through the National Truck Equipment Association. NTEA developed the MVP to meet its key strategic objectives of building better partnerships between distributors and manufacturers, and suppliers and customers.

To qualify, truck body manufacturers have to meet criteria that NTEA deems essential to providing quality products and services to their customers, including a current registration with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicle certification, a minimum of $1 million in insurance coverage, and proof of an audited in-house quality system.

“Our MVP status and ISO 9001:2000 quality certification demonstrate to our customers that we are committed to high standards for quality and customer satisfaction, as well as continuous improvement,” says David Spear, quality assurance manager for Somerset, Pa.-based J&J.

Over time, NTEA will increase program requirements to encourage even higher standards that must be met in order to continue to qualify for the program. Members must requalify every three years to maintain MVP status.
