National Logistics Management, a non-asset based third-party logistics provider, is offering approved carriers an opportunity to join the SuperFleet — a commercial fueling program from Speedway offering deep discounts on gas prices. The SuperFleet program, which also provides Web-based tracking and management tools for fuel expenditures — is the latest in a suite of operational enhancement programs NLM already offers its carriers through the company’s Partnership Advantage.

“SuperFleet allows our carriers to save a significant sum on one of their most costly day-to-day operations — fuel expenditures,” says Scott Taylor, chief executive officer and founder of Detroit-based NLM. “SuperFleet is an important edition to our overall Partnership Advantage, which helps ensure NLM operates with a strong, reliable carrier base, and further demonstrates our commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship with some of our most important business partners.”

SuperFleet — a commercial fueling program that offers detailed billing as well as discounts at no cost to the customer — is a program run by Speedway SuperAmerica Convenience Stores in conjunction with Marathon Oil, Pilot Travel Centers and Rich Oil Gas Stations. The SuperFleet program has more than 520 truck stops nationwide from which to choose, as well as more than 5,200 convenience stores.

Upon joining SuperFleet, NLM’s approved carriers are able to obtain fuel with a Speedway credit card at substantially lower costs than current market price; no fees are associated with use of the card. NLM says SuperFleet offers a total fleet management program designed to help control costs and monitor vehicle performance; carriers are granted online accounts that provide monthly fuel expenditure reports that can be customized according to individual business needs.

Features of the SuperFleet monthly management report, according to NLM, include:

  • Separation of vehicle, driver and/or department activity for quick analysis;
  • Miles driven and miles per gallon tracking capability;
  • Tracking fuel cost per mile;
  • Reduced bookkeeping/accounting expenses; and
  • Gasoline/diesel discounts when the account is paid on time.
  • SuperFleet is part of NLM’s Partnership Advantage, an effort promoting collaboration among carriers and loyalty to customers by providing cost-saving incentives to approved carriers. One of the additional benefits of the Partnership Advantage is NLM’s participation in the EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership; upon joining SmartWay, NLM carriers are provided with fuel-saving/emissions-reducing technologies and tips, such as idle reduction. NLM also offers carriers programs for discounts on lodging and acquiring safety and compliance materials.
