Werner posts improved 2Q revenues, net income

Werner Enterprises reported Wednesday, July 19, that operating revenues and net income both improved for the second quarter ended June 30. Operating revenues increased 9 percent to $528.9 million compared to $485.8 million in the second quarter of 2005. Net income increased 11 percent to $28.0 million compared to $25.3 million in the second quarter of 2005.

“By focusing on the fundamentals of the company’s truckload business and growing the revenues and operating income of its value-added services business, Werner produced another good quarter,” said Clarence “C.L.” Werner, chairman and chief executive officer of Omaha, Neb.-based Werner. “Thanks to the significant contributions of the outstanding men and women of Werner Enterprises, the company achieved its 19th consecutive quarter of improved year-over-year earnings.”
