Mitchell 1 — a provider of technical information for vehicle maintenance, service and repair — has hired Darren Hackney as an account manager for the company’s recently created Commercial Vehicle Group. His efforts will be concentrated on the company’s Tractor-Trailer.net, a service and repair information source for all heavy-duty tractors, dry vans and reefers dating back to 1990.
Previously serving as one of the nearly 200 independent sales representatives utilized by Mitchell 1, Hackney comes with nearly two decades of automotive and maintenance technology experience. He will be based out of Kansas City, Kan.
“The demand for Tractor-Trailer.net has grown to the point where it was time to hire someone to concentrate on the product full time,” says Scott DeGiorgio, Commercial Vehicle Group general manager for Poway, Calif.-based Mitchell 1. “We will still be using our tremendous pool of independent sales representatives to sell Tractor-Trailer.net, but focusing Darren’s experience and technical maintenance knowledge solely on this product will be a huge benefit for us as well as our customers.”
