Decker announces October Drivers of the Month

Decker Truck Line has announced that Daniel Welsh has been selected as the October 2006 Driver/Owner-Operator of the Month for the flatbed division. Welsh lives in Pittsburgh and has been with Fort Dodge, Iowa-based Decker since March 2002.

Selected as Driver of the Month for the reefer/van division was Mark Palm, who lives in Centralia, Mo., with his wife, Dorene. Palm started as a company driver in June 1995 and two years later bought a truck and became an owner-operator leased to Decker.

Drivers and owner-operators are nominated each month by their dispatchers and are selected based on their overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll and billing, and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators who are selected as a Driver of the Month will be eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the Year.
