Hazwaste manifest software
J.J. Keller & Associates has introduced Keller-Soft Hazwaste Manifest Manager software, a tool designed to automate completion of Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest forms – use of which is required by the Environmental Protection Agency for all hazardous waste shipments. The software, according to J.J. Keller, creates and prints forms, then stores them electronically so users can access previous forms and labels to assist with reporting and resending of like shipments. It also offers drop-down boxes designed to allow users to select information that has been keyed before, such as designated facility, description or transporter/generator. Users also can preview forms and labels before printing in order to make any necessary corrections. J.J. Keller says the software is compatible with its Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest forms, as well as forms produced by competitors. The Keller-Soft Hazwaste Manifest Manager also creates, prints and saves nonhazardous-waste manifests, as well as hazardous-waste package markings and labels, according to the company.

Gladhand seal with dust flaps
Phillips Industries has redesigned its poly seal with integrated dust flaps, which the company says makes it easier to install with its slightly tapered lip. When not in use, a trailer’s air system can be contaminated with dust and debris entering through an unprotected gladhand. The grey polyurethane dust flap integrated in the gladhand seal is used with a filter screen, creating a barrier designed to catch dust and debris before it enters the air system.

Extended-life coolant extender
Penray has introduced a heavy-duty Extended Life Coolant Extender (part number 900032) to help ensure that extended-life coolant maintains its engine protection properties against pitting, cavitation and corrosion for 600,000 miles, 6,000 hours or six years, before another coolant change is needed. The extended-life coolant extender offers effective, long-term corrosion protection for aluminum, brass, cast iron, steel, solder and copper, the company says; it also provides excellent heat transfer and superior protection in high operating temperatures, and reduces hard water scale. There is no silicate dropout or gel formation during use or storage, according to Penray.

Light bar message center
Ametek Dixson has added a light bar message center to its modular Next Generation Instrumentation (NGI) system. The LMC is designed to receive messages from the vehicle data bus and signals from discrete switches and analog sensors throughout the vehicle; the LMC then processes the data to drive telltales and gauge pointers, display vehicle information or broadcast messages on the vehicle data bus. The LMC features SAE J1587/1939 (CAN) data bus communication; automatic self-test on each power-up; 11 switched inputs and seven analog inputs; two switched outputs; an audible warning device; push-button, selectable displays and test functions; selectable primary display screens; backlight control for LCD display and NGI gauges; and 12- or 24-volt operation. The amber backlit LCD contains two 20-character lines. The LMC can drive up to 12 NGI gauges and contains 18 telltales, each illuminated by red, green, blue, amber or white LEDs. The message center meets all SAE J1455 and J1113 requirements for vehicular instrumentation, the company says, and was developed to withstand harsh, off-road conditions.
