The Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations will hold its 2007 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition Feb. 6-9 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.

Keeping with TMC’s 2007 Annual Meeting theme, “Optimizing Fleet Efficiency,” two full technical sessions will be devoted to how fleets can optimize fleet equipment management through better spec’ing, more efficient purchasing and trade cycle management, and improved technician recruitment and retention — all related to improving the bottom line of fleet operations.

Other technical sessions include:

TMC Study Groups will conduct nearly 100 Task Force meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 6, to work on TMC Recommended Practices. Shop Talk, a TMC meeting favorite, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8.

Veteran broadcast journalist Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” will be the kickoff breakfast speaker on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Wallace is a regular contributor to Fox’s political and election news coverage and is author of “Character: Profiles in Presidential Courage,” a study of American presidential leadership published in 2004.

TMC’s Transportation Technology Exhibition, the first trucking exhibit for the year, is expected to again feature more than 300 exhibitors spanning nearly 200,000 feet of exhibit space. The exhibit will include practical, hands-on demonstrations with exhibitor products, allowing fleet members an opportunity to inspect equipment and accessories while talking directly to product representatives. The 2007 Exhibitor Prospectus is available by clicking here. Additional information is available from David Miller, TMC exhibit & sponsorship manager, at (703) 838-1927 or [email protected].

For meeting registration or additional meeting or exhibit information, contact TMC at (703) 838-1763 or [email protected]. Full meeting registration is $410 for TMC/ATA members and $510 for nonmembers by Jan. 19. Registration after Jan. 19 is $510 for TMC/ATA members and $610 for nonmembers. A spouses’ program is available for $200 for members and nonmembers.
