Tele Atlas, a global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions, and Cobra Electronics have announced the continuation of their partnership that equips most of Cobra’s line of mobile navigation products with Tele Atlas’ digital map data and content. Through the partnership, Cobra’s navigation devices for key industries such as automotive and trucking will continue to feature Tele Atlas’ digital maps for North America and millions of points of interest.

“Cobra is committed to delivering innovative personal navigation products that ensure our customers have the highest quality maps available,” says Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Cobra Electronics. “With Tele Atlas as our digital mapping partner, we will continue to deliver richer, more useful location-based content and the most accurate digital maps available, providing us with a competitive advantage in this growing market.”

Cobra also launched the Nav One 2100, the latest in its line of mobile navigation devices, featuring Tele Atlas digital map data and offering what it describes as easy-to-use technology, portability and rich navigation features. Cobra says the Nav One 2100 features an ultra-bright color display in a 3.5-inch touchscreen; recognizable, easy-to-use graphics; millions of POIs; and Cobra’s Compare Routes feature, which allows drivers to choose from two onscreen routing options.

“Today’s consumers seek digital navigation maps and content, which enable them to easily find the people, places and services they seek most,” says Quan Vu, vice president of personal navigation for Tele Atlas. “By combining our strength in the personal navigation arena with Cobra’s recognized expertise in the automotive and trucking industries, we continue to further the adoption of PNAV technology.”

Tele Atlas and Cobra will showcase the Nav One 2100 and other Cobra mobile navigation devices at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, today through Thursday, Jan. 8-11, in the Central Hall, Booth No. 9841.
