New Century Holdings — owner of less-than-truckload carriers New Century Transportation and Western Freightways — has established NorthWind Logistics, a unit designed to provide rapid logistical support and services regardless of shipment origin, destination or size. NorthWind Logistics will offer regional and nationwide truckload and load-to-deliver capabilities, while also specializing in on-site freight management, inbound/outbound logistics and trace-and-track systems.

“This new unit significantly enhances our company’s capabilities, enabling us to broaden the menu of services we can provide our clients,” says Harry Muhlschlegel, chairman of Westampton, N.J.-based New Century. “By establishing NorthWind, we’re now even better suited to embrace the latest transport technologies and innovations, while also offering comprehensive strategic solutions.”

Through its new unit, New Century also provides IT consultation, global logistics management, temperature-controlled storage and logistics services. NorthWind Logistics also can coordinate carrier selection and follow-through, along with providing clients detailed daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on shipment status and progress, according to New Century.
