Averitt Express today, Jan. 26, announced that it is expanding its presence in Milwaukee. According to Averitt officials, the expansion, which includes opening a new facility in the area, will help Averitt shave a day off transit times to key delivery destinations in the South.

“Shippers in Milwaukee and across the country are increasingly seeking transportation providers who can get their freight to them faster,” says Sue Tabat, local service center director for Cookeville, Tenn.-based Averitt. “With this expansion, we’ll be able to offer the best possible transit times to our distribution network in the South, going above and beyond our competitors in this market. We’ll also be able to provide new pricing options we’ve never been able to offer in Milwaukee before.”

Averitt now is offering next-day service from Milwaukee to Louisville, Ky., Memphis, Tenn., and Nashville, Tenn.; and second-day service for Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, N.C., and Orlando, Fla. Averitt has been providing transportation service in Milwaukee since 1997. The opening of the new service center has added 13 dedicated doors to Averitt’s operations, as well as an additional 450 square feet of office space, company officials say.
