The Missouri Motor Carriers Association recently named Harvey Williams as Missouri Driver of the Month for December 2006. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Division of Highway Safety made the selection.
Williams, an owner-operator who leases a truck through Prime Inc., has driven 6.7 million miles without a single accident. The 48-year trucking veteran has received a safety award from Prime for each of the eight years he has been with the company. Williams — who participates in the Missouri Motor Carriers Truck Driving Championships each year — also was recognized for involvement in his community and his positive attitude.
“Harvey is an ambassador to the trucking industry,” says Don Lacy, safety director for Jefferson City, Mo.-based Prime Inc. “He is a very caring and knowledgeable operator who puts safety first. He is always willing to help any driver out.”
