The eighth annual National Day of Prayer for Truckers will be observed at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 22, nationwide and at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky. The MATS service will be in Room 101 of the South Wing of the Exposition Center.

Keynote speakers will be radio personalities Bill and Cindy Mack. Music will be presented by Southern gospel recording artists Jerry and Sharon Benson.

Bill “Satellite Cowboy” Mack, whose songwriting credits include LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue” and George Strait’s “Drinking Champagne,” is host of the nationally broadcast “Overdrive Top Ten Countdown” and a star of the Open Road channel on XM Satellite Radio.

The National Day of Prayer for Truckers is sponsored by Bob Hataway, president and founder of Transalive, and Joe Hunter, president of Truckstop Ministries.

While details have yet to be finalized, this year those unable to attend the MATS service will be able to hear the program by dialing a conference number with an access code. Fleets, vendors, truck stops, receivers and shippers that observed the nationwide prayer in the past now can dial in and broadcast the service live via a PA system, Hataway said.
