C.H. Robinson reports higher 4Q, full-year profit, revenue

C.H Robinson Worldwide on Tuesday, Jan. 30, reported fourth-quarter net income of $71.83 million, compared to $58.15 million during the same period in 2005. Total gross revenue for the quarter increased to $1.643 billion from $1.583 billion in the year-ago quarter.

Net income for fiscal 2006 rose to $266.93 million from $203.36 million last year. Total gross revenue for the year was $6.556 billion, compared to $5.689 billion last year.

Nathan Meisgeier, president of Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises, said his carrier is committing to hire 1,400 veterans over the coming year as part of the Freedom Haulers initiative.
