RedPrairie Corp., a consumer-driven optimization company, and GEOCOMtms today, Feb. 21, jointly announced that they have signed a definitive agreement, whereby RedPrairie will acquire GEOCOMtms. The combined companies, operating under the name RedPrairie Corp., will integrate and support all products and services from both organizations within RedPrairie’s end-to-end (E2e(TM)) suite.
The companies say the acquisition will meet the fleet requirements of many industries, including food and grocery, petroleum, retail, courier and healthcare delivery. RedPrairie’s Global Transportation Group will integrate and oversee GEOCOMtms’s Quebec City and Atlanta offices under the direction of RedPrairie Global Transportation Group President Tim Conroy.
The acquisition will fulfill demands from shippers and transportation service providers for essential, robust fleet management solutions that provide route optimization and visibility to manage same-day deliveries for private and commercial fleets, according to the companies. These capabilities are designed to improve efficiencies and reduce costs by providing effective driver and asset utilization.
GEOCOMtms specializes in providing optimization to manage multiple-stop daily delivery fleet scheduling. The solution is intended to create a dynamic link between transportation planners and drivers, combining location-based services and in-transit rerouting to better manage fleets in a real-time transportation environment.
“As we continue to expand our transportation capabilities in North America and beyond, this solution brings RedPrairie customers exciting capabilities to manage domestic and international fleet requirements,” Conroy says. “It also benefits GEOCOMtms customers who will have access to RedPrairie’s E2e transportation and supply chain capabilities.”
“We have enjoyed a long-term, successful partnership with GEOCOMtms, having offered their advanced solutions to our customer base,” says John Jazwiec, chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based Red Prairie. “We now look forward to bringing these capabilities in-house and welcoming GEOCOMtms customers and employees into the RedPrairie family.”
This acquisition is expected to close by the end of February. Terms were not announced.
