Peterbilt of Joplin’s Larson named ’06 North American Dealer of the Year

Glenn Larson, dealer principal of Peterbilt of Joplin, recently was named the 2006 Peterbilt Dealer of the Year. Larson, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary as a Peterbilt dealer, opened his first dealership in 1987 with his father, Claire.

Now operating as The Larson Group, headquartered in Springfield, Mo., the Larsons own and operate seven full-service Peterbilt dealerships in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Larson won Peterbilt Dealer of the Year in 1998 for the Peterbilt of Joplin dealership, as well as in 1995 and 2003 for the Mid-America Peterbilt (O’Fallon, Mo.) dealership.

“Glenn is consistently one of the top performing dealers in our network and is a valuable asset to our organization,” says Bill Jackson, vice president of Paccar and general manager of Denton, Texas-based Peterbilt. “He exercises continual improvement practices throughout all areas of the business to exceed customer expectations and ensure satisfaction. Glenn has enhanced Peterbilt of Joplin’s ability to serve customer needs by utilizing Peterbilt’s full product lineup and aftermarket services, as well as the resources of Paccar Financial and Paccar Parts.”

Kenny Doonan, dealer principal of Doonan Peterbilt Truck and Equipment of Wichita, Kan., was named Peterbilt’s 2006 Medium Duty Truck Dealer of the Year. “Kenny and his team embraced Peterbilt’s commitment to the medium-duty market and took their performance to the next level,” Jackson says. “They served customer needs by utilizing the full range of Peterbilt’s medium-duty vehicles and were successful in a wide range of medium-duty applications. Their dedication to customer satisfaction and innovative business planning made them instrumental in helping Peterbilt achieve record medium-duty market share last year.”

In 2006, Doonan’s dealership increased medium-duty sales by more than 300 percent. Doonan has owned and operated Doonan Peterbilt Truck and Equipment of Wichita since 1992 and recently purchased his second Peterbilt dealership, Doonan Peterbilt of Great Bend, Kan.
