Ruan Transport Corp., one of the largest privately owned U.S. transportation service companies, recently announced staffing promotions in the Pacific Northwest region. Ruan owns and operates several on-site customer terminals in Seattle.

“We are excited about the changes and growth opportunities for these managers as Ruan continues to expand our dedicated contract carriage business in the Pacific Northwest region,” says Jim Richards, vice president and Northwest regional manager for Des Moines, Iowa-based Ruan.

  • Steve McDaniels has been promoted to operations manager, where he will oversee day-to-day operations of three Seattle-area terminals. Prior to joining Ruan, McDaniels held various distribution management positions within the Associated Grocers organization. He also has held two different management positions at Ruan, and has vast experience in driver contract negotiations.
  • Mark Whitten has been promoted to terminal manager for a dedicated contract carriage customer. On a daily basis, Whitten will work to identify logistical challenges, provide solutions and optimize routes. He joined Ruan in 2004.
  • As a key figure in Ruan’s Seattle-area operations, Kelly Roggenbuck has assumed the terminal manager position for a dedicated contract carriage customer. Roggenbuck will be an on-site advocate while managing the day-to-day activities.
