MATS Big Rig Giveaway, Big Honkin’ Truck Makeover winners named

Driver Bruce Doering of Janesville, Wis., won the Great American Insurance Group Big Rig Giveaway at the 2007 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky. Kevin Greene of Cincinnati and his 1990 Peterbilt won Castrol Tection Extra’s second annual Big Honkin’ Truck Makeover contest.

Doering received a 2002 Freightliner Classic XL, enhanced by 4 StateTrucks, home of the Chrome Shop Mafia. 4 State Trucks is known for truck makeovers that include customized interiors and elaborate airbrushed graphics on the truck’s cab and trailer. The Chrome Shop Mafia are the stars of the CMT reality series “Trick My Truck.”

Greene’s truck, which has 1.3 million miles, will receive a $50,000 interior, exterior and communications makeover from the Chrome Shop Mafia. The result will be unveiled Aug. 23-25 at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. “This is a truck driver’s dream come true,” Greene says. Runner-up Bruce Faulk received a trip for two to the NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, Nev., and second-place winner Ronny Robin received a $500 Best Buy gift card. All three winners also win a year’s supply of Castrol Tection Extra.
