TMC Transportation raises driver pay

TMC Transportation has raised how much it pays experienced drivers from $.40 per mile to $.44 per mile, including bonuses. TMC also offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation and life insurance.

Drivers for Des Moines, Iowa-based TMC also have the option of choosing between a traditional mileage pay program and a performance-based percentage program, which pays a percentage of each load hauled.

Nathan Meisgeier, president of Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises, said his carrier is committing to hire 1,400 veterans over the coming year as part of the Freedom Haulers initiative.
