Cummins Inc. says its 2007 clean and fuel-efficient on-highway engines are available in Class 8 tractors, which meet requirements for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay-designated highway tractors, part of the EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership.

Cummins says its ComfortGuard auxiliary power unit also assists carriers in meeting SmartWay membership requirements and can be specified in a SmartWay Class 8 tractor. Engines include the ISX, ISM and ISL units.

The engines are certified and compliant to the 2007 EPA requirements. Cummins engines can be purchased in SmartWay-eligible Class 8 tractors from International, Volvo, Kenworth and Peterbilt.
